I’m a tricky cat to spot, since I spend most of my time in the canopies of the lowland and upland rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. The unique pattern of my fur allows me to camouflage, or blend in, with my surroundings. This way, I can sneak up on my prey while hunting. The larger species that I hunt include Bearded Pigs, Proboscis Monkeys, Sambar Deer, Bornean Yellow Muntjac, and Red Muntjac. The smaller creatures I hunt include Greater Mousedeer and Lesser Mousedeer. I can’t be too picky about my prey and hunt what I’m lucky enough to find.
When I’m not hunting, I rest in the branches, shaded by the leaves above me. You can come try to find me in East Malaysia at Maliau Basin Conservation Area, Gunung Mulu National Park, Pulong Tau National Park, and Crocker Range National Park. I can also be found in Indonesia at Gunung Palung National Park, Kayan Mentarang National Park, and Betung Kerihun National Park.
