Best known for her works in animal conservation and environmental advocacy through Jane Goodall Institute, Dr Jane Goodall has been travelling for so many years in spreading the message of hope especially in this era of climate change and biodiversity loss. RIMBA is humbled to attend series of events during Jane Goodall's visit to Malaysia in November 2019.
The exciting week started with attending Roots and Shoots Malaysia Award Ceremony by Roots and Shoots Malaysia, the Malaysian edition of Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots aimed to empower youngsters in making positive change for people, animals and the environment. Within the same week, RIMBA team also managed to attend the launch of 'Project Monyet' at Ruang by Think City at the heart of Kuala Lumpur. We took this opportunity to gift Jane a RIMBA deck during the session. Jane was actually one of the very few people that received RIMBA original prototype back in 2016! It was really great to share with her the RIMBA card deck which was launched in March 2019 and our work in environmental education using RIMBA as a learning tool!
We hope to spread this message of hope by getting RIMBA into as many schools and communities to increase biodiversity literacy among the public, especially to young people. Only when environmental empathy is embedded into the hearts of people do they willing to make behavioural and system changes for the betterment of the planet Earth.
